Wondering if you have what it takes to be a volunteer?
It takes a special person that is willing to share their talents, resources, or time to help others. We are currently recruiting for the following volunteer opportunities. Please contact Mary Orem at 303-866-9280, or im.volunteer@usw.salvationarmy.org.
Summer Day Camp - share a 20 minute skill/talent presentation (dog trainer, story teller, nurse, firefighter, pilot, race care driver, dinosaurs, history, etc.) or come along to outings twice a week (museims, water parks, etc.)
Project Organizers - coordinate projects such as dinners, field days, read-a-thons, cleaning, cooking
Site Coordinators - recruit, train, track, and thank volunteers
Food Drive Coordinators - at businesses, churches, schools
Award and Thank You Committee - create new thank you ideas, apply for awards with outside agencies
Graphic Artrist - create flyers, posters, letters
Website Developer - update volunteer website
Letter/Greeting Card Writer - send get well and birthday cards to shelter residents
Back to School Supply Drive Coordinator - assist with outside agencies
Coordinate July 4th - Recuit - donations/volunteers and serve, cook, clean for 1,700 folks
Serve Evening Meals at Crossroads Site - organize groups to do devotions, bring desserts, and serve
Update Monthly Bulletin - at shelters with themes and important informattion
Paint - shelters/classrooms buildings or rooms
Christmas Giving Tree Organizer - contact participating corporations, develop packets, flyers, and thank you's
Christmas Dinner Organizer - select a Christmas theme and make dinner special with coordinating materials
Summer Hygiene Product Drive Coordinator - recruit and collect hygiene products
Children's Spree - August 4th at 6:30 a.m. shop with a child for new school clothes
Organize Toy Room - for children's gifts
Christmas In July Motorcycle Run Organizer - July 21st, prizes, registration, silent auction
Thanksgiving Dinner - coordinate and recruit community groups for coat give-a-ways, provide more than jus a meal... Entertainment, magician, strolling band, etc., choose place settings and decorations
We are also intersted in office assitants, homework helpers, and life skills trainers.
Volunteering is a great opportunity for individuals, community groups, corporations, and local businesses. Everyone is welcome!
